Radioisotope generators made at PNNL for AlphaMed, Inc., support preclinical studies in mice on therapy of melanoma at the University of Missouri-Columbia using Pb-212-peptides; alpha radiation key to achieving complete remissions, reported in the medical journal Clinical Cancer Research, vol. 11(15), pages 5616-5621. - PNNL Radioisotopes Program Supplies Cesium-137 to Isotope Products Laboratories for Manufacture of Cs-137 Brachytherapy Sources. The Cs-137 tubes (12 to 100 mCi each) are used at medical centers to treat cervical and ovarian cancer; recent availability of Cs-137 re-establishes the supply of these devices. (June 15, 2005)
